The fragrance of love

Romance is in the air again with Valentine's day approaching. Are you ready? This simple project is for those who want to give a special gift to a special person. Valentine's day soaps are fun and easy to make.



Materials and supplies:

• Melt & Pour Soap Base (clear and white)
• Red soap colorant
• Scented oil
• Heart shaped cookie cutter
• Flat plastic dish
• Round plastic dish
• Glass containers for cooking or microwave

Melt the soap base in microwave or in the steam bath (making sure the soap does not come in contact with water). Add a few drops of red color and fragrance you want (I have chosen raspberry fruity smell), to get a pink hue. Pour some into a plastic container with a flat bottom. The layer should be approximately 5 mm thick. Let it cool. Add more red color in the rest of the soap base and pour over the first pink layer.
After about 15 minutes, while the soap is not completely hardened, remove it from the flat tray. Cut small heart using your cookie cutter, put them on the bottom of the small plastic containers and pour melted white soap. Let it cool well. Soap is ready for use after 24 hours of drying.
Wrap it in cellophane, add bows and sweet message for Valentine's Day.

Grandma's chair

This story is filled with the filings of tenderness and love... There is this warmth that overcomes me when I talk or think about this great women. She was the best grandma in the whole wide world. She died two years ago and I still miss her very much.

Once upon a time there was a little girl. And her grandma. And a world of fairytales. Grandma used to sit on her old chair and a girl would enjoy listening stories about dwarfs, witches, huge castles and kings. And she was safe in this beautiful world where happy ending and a huge smile on child's face before falling asleep were a part of everyday life.
Everything changes...this girl is now 25 years old, and her grandma just somebody she remembers with a tear in her eye.
This is where today's story about transformation begins.

















Great transformation I would say. My grandma is looking down, smiling and admiring the chair with me...

Eco clothes hanger

If you have these warm spring days are forced to take a walk through the forest, try to find a nice, solid branch (pick the one that is already lying on the ground!) and transform it in into a hanger!

Required materials:


* Dry wood branch (saw it to desired length)
* Hand saw with a fine toothed
* White acrylic paint, or any other
* Brush
* Iron scissors
* Fiber disc fine granulation (200)
* Iron chain
* 2 iron hooks


Clean well the branch and remove any parts of crust. Apply acrylic color in two layers, leaving the first coat to completely dry (approximately 2 hours) before putting another one.

Measure the desired height and drill two holes in the wall. Check that you do not have any electrical wires or pipes in the wall where you want to drill. Then mount the hooks and hang a chain.

Shorten the chain to a height that suits you. Finally create and hang your hand made wire hangers, and that's it!

Tips & tricks

To further emphasize the simplicity and ecological character of these hangers, you can buy a few meters of fine, thin, flexible wire and make your own hangers.And don't worry if they aren't fully symmetrical and perfect, make them your own - different and original, that's what this is all about.

Beautiful lamp shade

You can make this beautiful lamp shade with almost no effort at all, in variety of sizes and colors. Yo can decorate it with pearls, sea shells ... it's up to your imagination!

Materials and accessories:



• rope
• balloon
• wood glue
• scissors
• felt pen, needle

Procedure:

Inflate the balloon and tie the it. On its size depends how big the shade will be.
Mark a circle with felt pen. You'll avoid that circle when wrapping the rope, because this is where you'll put the electrical wiring and a bulb.




Apply the glue all over balloon. It's a bit messy, but use your fingers for best results. Wrap the rope in all directions around the balloon, and put on more glue with every new layer.




When you are satisfied with the density, leave it to dry overnight. In the end that all should look something like this ...



Use a needle to prick the balloon and pull it out. Now is only left to pull through the installation of your new blinds and enjoy the light which will reward you for your efforts.



Tips & Tricks

• If you decide to use thinner rope, you can use a needle to apply glass pearls or shells
• Dry rope can be acrylic paint and spray paint in any color

Old makeup cabinet becoming a beautiful desk

Present Situation:

Mirror was destroyed, but I did not want to replace it with new one. Instead, I decided to put a memo board there. I also decided to completely throw out two large drawers.

Details:

• Ordinary wooden handles were replaced with glass ones.
• I placed a magnetic white board where the mirror was before.
• Tip: instead of magnetic plates, you can have a piece of plywood and cork for your memory panel. If you prefer, you can always set up and a new mirror, as in the original version.
• This table is painted in ice-gray color.
• With the darker shades of the same color I painted carved details on the drawers and crown frame of the memory board.

New state:

From the damaged table for makeup I made functional and beautiful small desk. The elegant upper drawers were ok, and removal of the lower drawer provided space for the legs of the chair.
